Welcome to Straightliners Enniskillen, home of the Irish Drag Racing Championships.
Now in its fourth year, Straightliners Enniskillen is the largerst event of its kind anywhere in Ireland, with 7 classes to accomodate all levels of competitor, from novice, to professional.
What is Drag Racing? Drag racing is a head to head straight line sprint over a quarter mile from a standing start, with the winner crossing the line first. The ever increasing popularity of the sport is in no small part due to its accessibility. Anyone with a car or bike can put on a helmet and take part.
If racing isn't your thing, then why not come and see the fastest cars and bikes on the road today.
At our last event, the fastest quarter mile time posted by a car was 9.93 seconds. Thats stationary to 140mph in less than 10 seconds. The fastest time posted by a bike was a mind blowing 8.92 seconds. Stationary to 173mph in less than 9 seconds.
To give those figures some perspective, compare them to the fastest production cars in the world: Ford GT, 11.7 seconds, Ferrari Enzo, 11.1 seconds, even a Bugatti Veyron takes 10.2 seconds to complete the quarter mile.
Gates open at 9am Sunday the 19th September at St. Angelo's Airport, Enniskillen. Racing starts at 10am, with class finals at 4pm.
We'll see you at the start line.
